ABOUT ME

Hi, my name’s Morgan, and I’ve been in the gym for over a decade now. When I first started out, I was the tall, skinny kid - too nervous to even go upstairs in the gym, never mind try out new exercises. I used to watch other people, and copy what they were doing. But when I tried to replicate their movements, I’d end up with pain or discomfort. Through a lot of trial and error, I began to problem solve and understand how to perform certain exercises in a way that suited me.

When I started coaching others, I naturally leaned into hypertrophy training as I felt like that was what I knew best. Eventually, I got more into strength training, which is where I got introduced to compound lifts. However, with compound movements being more complex than isolation exercises, that brought up more challenges - especially when my clients would hit barriers. Why could some people do certain movements better than others?

That question led me deep down the nerdy rabbit hole of biomechanics, which helped me to connect the dots and better understand why, in the past, I experienced discomfort and felt more comfortable performing certain exercises in a particular way.

What started as me trying to fix my own pain turned into a full-blown obsession with helping people move better, feel better — which would then help them get bigger, or stronger, depending on their goal.

Getting into Strength and Conditioning felt like the natural next step and what I realised was everybody from complete beginners, all the way up to professional athletes all have one thing in common - they’re all human. That’s why my approach is always about training the individual in front of me — not just following a one-size-fits-all program.
